# Terms of Use

*Last updated: October 10, 2026*

## 1. Scope and operator

These Terms of Use apply to this website, including all subpages and language versions, and to all free features offered through it (together, the “service”).

The service is operated by Martin Brugg, Lavaterstraße 8/1/3, 1220 Vienna, Austria (“we” “us”). Full details are in the [Legal Notice](https://ahumanguidetoai.com/legal-notice/).

By using the service you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

## 2. Free features

The service accompanies the book “A Human Guide to AI” and is free of charge. It currently includes in particular:

- the readiness check and the survey for assessing your own situation or that of an organization
- team mode, which lets organizers create a survey for a team and review the results in a dashboard, as a report and as a CSV export
- downloads such as the one-page Human Guide to AI and other materials
- unlocking additional content with a book code
- sending results by email, reminders and – only with your explicit consent – occasional notes; you can unsubscribe at any time with one click in every news email or [right here](https://ahumanguidetoai.com/privacy-policy/#unsubscribe)
- the contact form.

These Terms of Use also apply to free features we add in the future. There is no entitlement to any particular feature or to its continued availability. Purchases of the book itself are governed solely by the terms of the respective retailer (e.g. Amazon).

## 3. No registration, personal access links

You do not need an account to use the service. Some features work with personal links, for example the link to a team dashboard. These links work like a key: anyone who has the link has access.

Please keep such links confidential and share them only with people who should have access.

If someone has your dashboard link who should not, simply create a new one yourself – on the dashboard under “Create a new link” or via the link in your email. The old link stops working at once; the team link and all answers stay. For safety, the new link only goes to the email address the survey was created with. If you no longer have the email, request your links again here:

Team surveys · your links

Enter the email address you created the team survey with. We send you all active team surveys with their links — and a button to replace the dashboard link if someone has it who should not.

We are not responsible for the consequences of a link being passed on by you or by people who received it from you.

## 4. Your obligations

You agree to use the service only in accordance with applicable law and these terms. In particular, you may not

- enter false information in order to deliberately distort results or statistics
- query the service automatically, overload it or circumvent security measures (e.g. through bots, scraping or mass requests)
- enter other people’s email addresses without their consent
- submit unlawful, offensive or discriminatory content through forms or free-text fields.

Please do not enter health information, passwords or other sensitive information about yourself or others in free-text fields. We may block access to individual features if these rules are violated.

## 5. Additional obligations for organizers of team surveys

If you create a team survey, you are responsible towards the participants for how the survey is used. In particular, you make sure that

- participants know who is running the survey, what the results are for and that taking part is voluntary
- your organization’s internal rules are followed – for surveys among employees, involving the works council or employee representatives may be required depending on the country (in Austria, for example, under sections 96 and 96a of the Labour Constitution Act, ArbVG)
- the results are not used to identify, assess or disadvantage individual people.

The dashboard only shows results once a minimum number of responses has been reached, to protect anonymity. This threshold is a safeguard but does not replace your own care, especially with very small teams.

## 6. Content and rights of use

All content of the service – texts, questions, evaluations, graphics, downloads and design – is protected by copyright and belongs to us or the respective rights holders.

You may use, print and share downloads (e.g. the one-page Human Guide to AI) as well as your results, reports and CSV exports for personal purposes and within your organization, as long as the reference to “A Human Guide to AI” is kept. You may not sell them, publish them as your own work, or use the questions or materials for a commercial product of your own without our written consent.

A book code is intended for buyers of the book and may not be published or resold.

The answers and messages you submit remain yours. You allow us to process them in order to provide the service and to analyze them in anonymized, aggregated form (without any link to individuals or organizations) to improve the service.

## 7. Availability, changes and deletion periods

We aim to run the service reliably but cannot promise any particular level of availability. Maintenance, technical problems or changes may cause interruptions. We may change, extend, limit or discontinue features at any time.

Team surveys and their responses are deleted automatically after the period chosen when the survey was created, unless you extend it. Details on retention periods are in the [Privacy Policy](https://ahumanguidetoai.com/privacy-policy/).

Please save any results you need for longer yourself in good time – for example as a PDF report or CSV export. Data cannot be restored after deletion or after a feature has been discontinued. If we permanently discontinue a feature, we will notify organizers of active team surveys in advance on their dashboard and, where an address is on file, by email.

## 8. No advice

The questions, evaluations, recommendations and materials are meant for orientation and discussion. They are general in nature and do not replace individual advice, in particular legal, employment-law, technical or business advice. Decisions you make based on the results are your own responsibility.

If you wish, we are happy to advise you and help you find the right path for the introduction – just get in touch via the [contact form](https://ahumanguidetoai.com/#contact).

## 9. Warranty and liability

The service is provided free of charge and as is. We do not guarantee that it is error-free, complete, available at all times or suitable for any particular purpose.

We are liable only for damage caused by us intentionally or through gross negligence. Liability for slight negligence is excluded. This does not apply to injury to life, body or health, for which we are liable in accordance with the law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, loss of data or consequential damage.

Mandatory statutory rights, in particular under consumer protection and product liability law, remain unaffected. These provisions also apply in favor of our employees and agents.

## 10. Links to other websites

The service contains links to other websites, for example to Amazon to buy the book or to leave a review. The operators of those websites are solely responsible for their content, terms and privacy practices. Paid placements on the dashboard are labelled “Sponsored”.

## 11. Privacy

How we process personal data is explained in our [Privacy Policy](https://ahumanguidetoai.com/privacy-policy/). The website does not set cookies and uses no third-party tracking.

## 12. Future paid services

If we offer paid services in the future, separate terms will apply to them, and we will point these out clearly before any purchase. The free features described here will not automatically become paid as a result.

## 13. Changes to these Terms of Use

We may change these Terms of Use, for example when new features are added or the legal situation changes. The version published on this page at the time of use applies. In the case of material changes, we will inform organizers of active team surveys on their dashboard and, where an address is on file, by email.

## 14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Austrian law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the conflict-of-law rules of private international law. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, you retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of that country.

The place of jurisdiction for businesses is Wien, Austria. For consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply.

## 15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Use is invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected. The invalid provision is replaced by one that comes legally closest to its purpose.

## 16. Contact

Please send questions about these Terms of Use or reports of misuse to hello ahumanguidetoai com or use the contact form on this website.

*In case of any discrepancy between the language versions, the German version prevails.*
